SASSA Beneficiaries Face Trouble Under New Treasury Budget Rules
In June 2025, the SASSA officials changed some rules and requirements for the SASSA beneficiaries. These changes are made to improve the SASSA payment system. Also, it will make sure that only eligible citizens will get the SASSA grant payments.
However, the Universal Basic Income Coalition, Bukelwa Hans, has said that these new amendments can increase the poverty ratio in the country.
In her interview with eNCA, she said that new changes for the approval of SASSA grant payments will increase the number of vulnerable people in the country.
